THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Turn on the Lights is a fundraiser like no other. You are invited to join us in a beautiful intimate setting and listen to the fabulous music of Gordon Grdina's HARAM, Vancouver's one-of-a-kind Arabic improvisational ensemble. Meet the creative artists behind Donald and Lenore, enjoy fine food and drink, and catch a special sneak preview of the production running at the Chutzpah! Festival in March 2010. All proceeds from the event will assist in the creation of the spectacular subterranean world of Donald and Lenore.

The Music: Gordon Grdina's ensemble HARAM tackles traditional Arabic themes in unconventional ways. Grdina is a Vancouver-based guitarist/oud player whose sound combines mainstram jazz, free-form improvisation and classical Arabic music.

Donald and Lenore is a fiercely dark and comic play about survival, performance, American hegemony, tikis, incarceration, love and the power to resist annihilation with a little bit of glamour.

Time: Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Where: 3966 Ontario Street, Vancouver

Tickets: $50.00 (tax receipts will be issued for $40.00)
